ALL CIRCUIT: A case story on ergonomics

"Good ergonomics is a top priority," says Loïc Boutillier, Technician Methods at ALL Circuit Group. "Focusing on ergonomics in the inspection process supports a good working environment and an efficient work force."

“Previously, we used to work with magnifying lamps. This was giving us some challenges as the components kept getting smaller and thereby required higher magnification. But more importantly, it caused a bad working position being bent over the conveyer to inspect the boards,” explains Loïc Boutillier. “A vast majority of our employees voted for the TAGARNO solution among different options because of its user friendliness,” elaborates Loïc Boutillier.

Digital microscopes for a variety of tasks

At ALL Circuit Group, they've installed no less than 20 ZAPS. The microscopes are installed at various stations and perform a variety of tasks:

  • To inspect rejects from the AOI

  • To manually check alignment of components

  • To check for polarity

  • The ability to angle the camera head is used for QFP inspection

Today, all workstations are designed to comply with ergonomic rules and principles. The new setup ensures optimal comfort for workers and helps prevent Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), the single largest category of work place injuries in the US alone.
