How exact can I do measurements when using TAGARNO MEASUREMENT SOFTWARE (TMS)?

For: Software
  • This depends on which version of TAGARNO MEASUREMENT SOFTWARE (TMS) you are running (MILLI or MICRO)

  • When using MICRO calibration, we are using a dot-grid system to calibrate the entire area of the lens

    1. This method takes the lens curve distortion in to consideration, this gives us a precission when using a +10 lens of +/- 5Micron. If you are using a higher lens your will get an even higher precission
  • Using MILLI calibration, we can not give you a number, due to, too many unknown factors:

    1. Placement of known object on the monitor, size of known object and placement precision of markers when giving size
    2. If you are using MILLI calibration, which is a lineary calibration method, we recommend you to do a calibration in the area of the monitor, to avoid to much lens curve distortion

What is the different between optical and digital zoom?

For: General
  • Digital zoom: Digital zoom enlarges the image area at the center of the frame by enlarging the pixels. This, of course, affects the resolution of the image

  • Optical zoom: Optical zoom uses optics to bring the object closer. This produces images of higher quality and does not affect the resolution of the image

  • I you take a combination of optical and digital zoom e.g. 10x optical zoom and 2x digital zoom. To calculate the area of optical magnification, you simply take the maximum magnification and divide it by two. Examples:

    LENS +10: max mag = 100x, so 100/2 = 50x optical magnification (the rest up to 100 is digital)

    LENS +5: max mag = 50x, so 50/2 = 25x optical magnification (the rest up to 50x is digital)

    LENS +4: max mag = 40x, so 40/2 = 20x optical magniciation (the rest up to 40x is digital)

  • To see the difference between optical and digital zoom, try this out:

    Compare the image quality when magnifying 50x with a LENS +10 versus magnifying 50x with a LENS +5. You will see that you get a better image quality with the LENS +10 because it has optical magnification all the way to 50x.

How do I use the POLARISER SET for RINGLIGHTS?

For: Accessories

What is the difference between zoom and magnification?

For: General
  • The zoom value is the given camera position, this value will always be the same no matter LENS and MONITOR connected

  • The magnification value is a number calculated based on your zoom position, lens type and your monitor size.
    Eg. Monitor width / (overview with max zoom / Lens no.)  =>  478mm / (45,3mm / +4) = 42,2x (magnification on 21,5” monitor)

What is FOV?

For: General
  • FOV or Field Of View, is the area you can see underneath the camera. FOV depends on zoom value and type of  LENS

What is FULL HD?

For: TAGARNO FHD ZAP, TAGARNO FHD ZIP, General
  • FULL HD (Full High Definition) is a high picture quality displayed on a MONITOR - FULL HD is 1080p.

    The P in 1080p refers to the number of vertical lines displayed on the screen. You get an equally sharper image, if you have a higher number of lines. P stands for Progressive scan - that the screen uses to display images. Progressive scans quickly displays images due to the complete refreshment of the screen with every fram, which creates fast movements to be displayed in razor sharp details.

    Even though many systems claim to be able to run in FULL HD, it is exclusively equiptment, such as TAGARNOs FHD magnification systems MAGNUS FHD ZAP and MAGNUS FHD ZIP, which is designed to display in 1080p that generates true FULL HD.

What is HD?

For: TAGARNO HD UNO, TAGARNO HD TREND, TAGARNO HD PRESTIGE
  • HD states a level of details on a MONITOR/SCREEN, which provides more or less fluid image and vibrant hues.

    The number of pixels on the screen defines the level of HD, which results in two types of resolutions: HD (1280 x 720) and FULL HD resolution (1920 x 1080).

What is the difference between 720p and 1080p?

For: TAGARNO FHD ZAP, TAGARNO FHD ZIP, TAGARNO HD UNO, TAGARNO HD TREND, TAGARNO HD PRESTIGE
  • 720p, 1080i and 1080p are all various HD versions, but the nature of the types varies.

    The more pixels on the screen, the higher the definition of images will be. A pixel is the smallest visible element on a display.

    An HD (720p) monitor is 1280 x 720 pixels, which is half the detail of FULL HD (1080p) which 1920 x 1080 pixels.

    A unit with a HD resolution of 720p will only be able to display images at this resolution, whereas most 1080p (FULL HD) units gives you a more well detailed viewing experience.

Does the nature of the materials used to make a cable influence the image quality?

For: TAGARNO FHD ZAP, TAGARNO FHD ZIP, TAGARNO HD UNO, TAGARNO HD TREND, TAGARNO HD PRESTIGE, Accessories
  • All cables (except for optical ones) has the purpose to transmit an electrical signal. The difference in performance between the variety of cables is minimal - gold-plated or not!

    With HDMI cables the signal is digital so the cable material does not make a significant difference. Eexpensive HDMI cables therefore does not offer a difference in picture quality over less expensive HDMI cables. With analog cables, the performance will be fine, regardless of the price level or cable variations

How do I use the FRESNEL LENSES for the RING LIGHTS?

For: Accessories
  • The exchangeable lenses are used to concentrate the light power at a specific working distance. In this way, the light is not dissipated but focused at the point where it is needed: in the centre of the field of view. For the most common working distances, the following lenses are available:

    Nominal working range
    WD = 50 mm.         40 - 80 mm.
    WD = 100 mm.       80 - 150 mm.
    WD = 200 mm.     150 - 240 mm.

What is the difference between zoom and magnification?

For: General
  • The zoom value is the given camera position, this value will always be the same no matter LENS and MONITOR connected

  • The magnification value is a number calculated based on your zoom position, lens type and your monitor size.
    Eg. Monitor width / (overview with max zoom / Lens no.)  =>  478mm / (45,3mm / +4) = 42,2x (magnification on 21,5” monitor)
